Downtown Woodstock was originally a stop on the Louisville & Nashville railroad line and its quaint buildings in the historical commercial district date back to 1879. The Downtown district features brick paved sidewalks and is very pedestrian friendly with antique and specialty shops, restaurants and a new mixed-use residential and commercial development next to the converted railroad station, which is now a row of shops and restaurants.
