Rendering of Alpharetta City Center

Just to the south, downtown Alpharetta is transforming into a sparkling jewel of Metro Atlanta, with two exciting projects underway. At State Bridge Road and GA 400, really the Gateway to Alpharetta, Avalon is beginning to take shape. Avalon is intended to be a luxurious live, work and play destination with high-end shops and restaurants, Whole Foods, a mega-movie theatre, a luxury hotel, first-class office space and an estimated 800 residents. Also taking shape is City Center in Alpharetta, which is an inspired redevelopment of downtown Alpharetta which will eventually encompass a new city hall, library, 5-acre park, a cleverly disguised parking deck plus new shops and residences.

But really, even though they are distinct cities, Alpharetta and Milton tends to blur together, with city leaders even negotiating for residents of both cities to share all recreational facilities throughout the area. Many Milton residents (Ben included- he’s lived in Milton since 1997) still use Alpharetta for mailing purposes as the mail is delivered from the Alpharetta post office.

All the cities of North Fulton County- from Roswell and Sandy Springs to the south, Duluth and Johns creek further north and east of GA 400, and of course the previously described Alpharetta and Milton- are blessed with great jobs, schools, shopping, dining and quality of life, truly great places to live.
