Milton and The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has scheduled a public information open house to review planned transportation improvements for Crabapple. The meeting will be at Alpharetta’s Crabapple Government Center from 6pm to 8pm. According to Milton officials, this will not be a formal presentation but instead a chance to view the plans, ask questions and comment on the project.
Sara Leaders, Milton’s Transportation Engineer, stated that the project to be reviewed “Is for improvements at the main intersection and a northwest bypass around the main intersection with roundabouts at both ends.” This is the bottleneck intersection at Mayfield Road and Mid-Broadwell Road. Leaders added that the project will “include some elements from the recently completed Crabapple Visioning Study and the Milton Comprehensive Transportation Plan.”
The Crabapple Visioning Study is a retooling of the Crabapple Crossroads Master Plan and shows a long-term strategy to make the Crabapple area more walkable, less congested and visually appealing. Milton asked Lew Oliver to conduct meetings and complete the study in the spring though the plan has not yet been fully adopted. Read more about the study and download it here.
