A fun race and beer tasting comes to Alpharetta Saturday and benefits a great local non-profit, Canine Assistants. The Craft Beer Festival and 5K Road Race kicks off at 6 pm, with the 5K race starting at 8 pm packet pickup at 6 pm. You and your family can participate in one event or both (if of legal drinking age, of course).
The early registration deadline has passed but you can still sign up for the race for $35, which includes race entry fee, t shirt and a free beer. The Craft Beer Festival is $10; you get entry and a souvenir tasting glass. Over 100 craft beers are available for tasting at $1 each. Registration for both the race and the beer tasting is $43.
The road race begins and ends at the corner of Milton Avenue and Roswell Street in Alpharetta. In addition to the beer tasting, there will be live entertainment by Salty Road Band, fire dancers and fire breathers; plus sponsor Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub will have food to purchase, with the events lasting until approximately 11:30 pm.
Canine Assistants is a great organization that trains service and seizure response dogs for children and adults throughout the US.
