Alpharetta Arts Streetfest set for April 13 -14

You know Spring has arrived when the Alpharetta Arts Streetfest is around the corner. The annual event is this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 6pm each day. As in the past, Milton Ave from Main St to Canton St/Roswell St, will be closed off with numerous arts and crafts vendors. This year will feature 100 juried artists! And throughout the day there will be live musical and cultural arts performances, children’s activities and the mesmerizing smell of food trucks offering scrumptious delights.arts in alpharetta{[}]

Art In Action

{[}]Out of the Box Studio is offering children the opportunity to create FREE art projects in the interactive “Art in Action” area of the festival. This year the studio will help children create a piece in the style of “face pots” made out of clay, with a paper version also available if parents can’t return to pick up the clay project once cured. Other areas of the festival will offer “tattoos”, wacky hair, face painting, balloon and ceramic art, and more. There’s also a pottery wheel demonstration, fascinating for both children and adults.{[}]

Upcycling Art

{[}]The upcoming Earth Day will also be celebrated with an “upcycling” art exploration area. This area will show you inventive ways to turn junk into art- you can even make a drum to play!{[}]

2013 Festival Cuisine

{[}]Enjoy a variety of festival cuisine from Smokejack: A Southern Grill, Pacific Rim Noodles, ZPizzaJilly’s Cupcakery, The Bubble Tree Truck, Scoop-itz, and other street fare treats such as kettle corn, Italian Ice, lemonade and roasted almonds.{[}]
