Christmas in Metro Atlanta with Santa | Tree Lightings

Once again, Santa and his helpers will be out and about in North Metro Atlanta. Here we’ll highlight a few events you might want to attend with your family:{[}]{[}]First, Santa will visit Glover Park in Marietta Square on December 1. Festivities begin at 5pm with singing by children’s choirs; Santa will arrive shortly thereafter, lighting the tree at 6pm and will continue to visit with children in the gazebo until 8pm. Santa’s workshop will also be open throughout the Holidays; check for more details here.{[}]{[}]On December 3, Woodstock hosts a number of Christmas events highlighted by the Christmas Parade at 5:30pm beginning on Main Street at Hwy 92 and continuing through Downtown Woodstock north to Woodstock Elementary School on Rope Mill Road. If you arrive early, you may want to drop in the Elm Street Theatre to see the Players perform the Little Drummer Boy at 2pm; admission isMetro Atlanta celebrates Christmas with local events free but a can of chili, stew or chunky stew for local food pantries. At 4:45, Together in Harmony, a choral group, will sing near the Grand Stand; at 5:15, the Woodstock Christmas Run will get underway along the parade route. And of course after the parade in the Park at City Center, AKA Downtown City Park, the park and Christmas tree will be lit with Santa presiding.{[}]{[}]Milton will hold its 3rd Annual Christmas Tree lighting at 7pm on December 3. The event is held at the corner of GA Hwy 9 and Webb Road in front of Deerfield Place, home or Super Target and other retailers. Shortly after the tree lighting, Santa will arrive  by firetruck and will hang around to visit and for photos until 8:30pm.  Enjoy Holiday music throughout the evening featuring a performance by the Milton High School Chorale. And be on the lookout for special coupons for the many retailers of Deerfield Place. Lastly, Milton will host Christmas in Crabapple on December 17 from 2pm to 5pm.{[}]{[}]Roswell has many events planned throughout the Holidays but the highlight is the Holiday Celebration on the Town Square beginning at 5pm with the lighting of the Square, a reading of T’was the Night Before Christmas and of course Santa’s arrival. And there’s a Holiday bus that will take you to Santa’s Secret Gift Shop.{[}]{[}]And last but certainly not least, Alpharetta will hold its Tree Lighting Celebration at 5pm on December 4. Mrs. Claus will join Santa just after the tree lighting at Milton Square Park by arrival on a fire truck, a long-time tradition for the event. Downtown Alpharetta shops will feature Holiday Open Houses beforehand and there will be entertainment, free hot chocolate and face painting.{[}]{[}]So get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy some of the local Holiday events this year!{[}]{[}] {[}]{[}] {[}]{[}]
