{[}]{[}]Northside Hospital recently broke ground on their estimated $250 million replacement hospital and medical campus nearĀ Canton Marketplace and crews are steadily working on the project. This significant investment reflects Northside’s commitment to Cherokee County and its growth. Northside Hospital-Cherokee will be located just east of the Hwy 20 exit off I-575. There will also be a new parkway with access off Hwy 140/Hickory Flat Road, making it a convenient drive for most residents. The facility replaces the current 67 bed hospital built in 1962 as R. T. Jones Regional Hospital. Northside purchased a 50 percent interest in 1997 and renamed the hospital Northside Hospital-Cherokee, then subsequently bought the remaining interest in 2009.{[}]{[}]According to MDatl.com, the new complex will initially contain the following:{[}]

    {[}]

  • 84-bed hospital facility
  • {[}]

  • Distinct Women’s Center
  • {[}]

  • Multispecialty Medical Office Building and Cancer Center
  • {[}]

  • 600-space parking deck and 300 surface parking spaces
  • {[}]

{[}]With the new location, there is ample room for further expansion as the region continues to grow. The complex will also complement recent additions to Northside’s Cherokee County facilities such as Northside/Holly Springs Medical Offices which includes an Urgent Care facility and Northside-Cherokee Towne Lake, a 100,000 sq ft, 4 story medical building located in Woodstock and scheduled to open August 2013.{[}]{[}] {[}]{[}]

Information about opening has been scarce so far, but the current hospital’s website is saying 2015. While the parkway for the hospital is open to drive, there is no sign of construction yet, likely due to bad weather conditions.

Well Star has taken over the region I want a Northside Hosspital to expand in this area. I have been to both hospitals and I feel that Northside takes care of their patients better.

Thank you for your insight; Northside-Forsyth and Northside-Cherokee both seem to have good reputations.

I have a home in the Hillcrest subdivision really close to where the new hospital is being built. Should I expect the value of my house or potential rent to increase or decrease due to this?

Hi Kim, great question. In general, prices should appreciate around a new hospital the scope of this one. Since prices in Hillcrest have not done well the last few years, would hope that the new facilities will at least stop the depreciation in the neighborhood over the last few years. Best wishes to you!

Hi Debbie, unfortunately as we are not associated with the hospital or industry, we cannot give you any advice. Perhaps someone else seeing this post can advise?
