The Willows, Active Adult/55+ Community with Ranch Condo Homes
The Willows, an Active Adult community, is a great ranch condo community in Woodstock Georgia. Designed for the active adult / 55+ wanting single level living, this gated community is made up of 42 homes. Located off Hwy 92 on Hames Road just East of Downtown Woodstock the community is an ideal place to call home.
The three bedroom homes were designed with no steps and wide doors. There is a vaulted Great Room and Dining Room with trey
ceiling. The Kitchen has an eating bar, lots of 42-inch cabinets, pantry, and some homes have a raised dishwasher – no bending required. Off the Kitchen is a generous Laundry Room and a second pantry.
The Primary Bedroom has room for Sitting Area plus a huge walk-in closet. The Primary Bath includes a dual sink vanity and oversized shower. The size of the shower is one of the highlights of the home. Most homes are built with a sunroom. Some homes have a patio. All homes come with a large 2 Car Garage plus driveway parking for visitors.
Neighborhood Amenities
This small age restricted active adult neighborhood, The Willows, has lots of green space within the community and level streets for walking within the neighborhood. There is neighborhood clubhouse that includes a kitchen and covered patio for resident enjoyment. It’s the perfect place to meet neighbors and visit with friends. The clubhouse is for community and private use. The Willows is conveniently located to shopping at nearby strip shopping centers or one of the box stores in Woodstock. Entertainment includes numerous restaurants in Downtown Woodstock or a live entertainment venue. Walking trails and parks are in abundance in the area. Medical facilities are nearby including hospitals. Homeowners over 62 can apply for a senior tax exemption for the school taxes paid to Cherokee County.

Thanks for asking about The Willows. It is a great community. The homes have 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. There is a large Great Room that opens to the Dining Room and Kitchen. The Great Room has a vaulted ceiling and fireplace. The Dining Room has a trey ceiling. The Kitchen has ample countertop space and cabinets. The finish of the kitchen cabinets will vary from house to house. There are two pantries. Off the Dining Room is a Sunroom/Den-two walls are windows.
The Master Suite is oversized with space for a sitting area. The Master Bath includes an oversized shower and vanity with two sinks. There is a huge walk-in closet. The other two Bedrooms are nice sized. Many residents use one for a home office. Off the Kitchen is a nice size laundry room. All homes have an oversized two car garage.
The community is located off Hwy 92 in Woodstock. Everything is conveniently located nearby. Downtown Woodstock is a thriving shopping and dining area. If your kids live in Roswell it is just a short drive for 15 to 20 minutes away. One of the best things about living in Woodstock and Cherokee County is taxes. They are low. Additionally at 62, you no longer pay the school portion of the tax bill and save about 50%.
The Willows has a clubhouse where residents gather. There is a ladies’ lunch group, a men’s lunch group, and quarterly planned socials. Also during the nice weather neighbors gather on the covered porch at the clubhouse. The City of Woodstock has an active Senior Center open Monday – Friday.

Quick question, do any of the 55 and over communities in this area of town do any type of trade? When we moved to Georgia in 1992 we noticed many of the builders offered a trade in ( for lack of a better word ) on an existing property if you were interested in their property.

We work with numerous Active Adult builders throughout the Metro Atlanta area and are not aware of any that offer a “trade” program. Several however do allow contingent contracts, meaning that you could put a home (or lot to build) of theirs under contract for a period of time contingent upon you listing and selling your home. Is this something that would interest you?

If not in walking distance fairly close
Other choice is community that carters to the 50 or older

There are numerous active adult communities in Woodstock, many a short drive to downtown Woodstock. Within walking distance there would be two maybe three. What you mean walking distance may add more choices.
At the present time there is very little new construction in the immediate area. We anticipate and hope there will be more new communities starting soon.
