About the Area

Buford GA is a thriving suburb about 45 minutes from downtown Atlanta. The community is in Gwinnett County, which offers great tax breaks for seniors starting at 65.

Lakecrest’s location is perfect for those that like to shop, eat out, and explore. Sugar Hill has a charming and thriving downtown with plenty to do, including restaurants and a coffee shop with outdoor seating, and a downtown art gallery and history museum. Or enjoy $2 Tuesdays at The Eagle Theatre, an art-deco theatre that has movies, musicals, and other entertainment. There’s even a new gym with start-of-art fitness equipment and classes; membership for non-residents is a mere $35 per year.

Buford and Suwanee are also nearby and have a multitude of restaurant and shopping options. And the Mall of GA and all of the  big box stores, including Walmart, Costco, and Sams Club are only 10 minutes away.

Lakecrest has excellent healthcare options with two nearby hospitals, Northside Hospital Forsyth and Emory at Johns Creek.
